The subject of Primark coming to Salisbury gets mentioned on the local Facebook news pages almost every week. Whenever the Salisbury Journal or Spire FM mention anything about a new shop opening or a store closing, you can guarantee that someone will mention that Salisbury needs a Primark store to open in the city.

The problem is that, although Salisbury is a city as it has a cathedral, the population is fairly small compared to other cities. Rumour has it that Primark would only open a new store in a city with a population of over 100,000 people although Salisbury only has around 45,000. I just don't think that it would be financially viable for them to open a shop here..

Why do people want a Primark in Salisbury

I imagine that the reason that some people are so keen to have a Primark store in Salisbury is that it sells cheap clothing. In these tough economics times it would be great to be able to buy the latest fashion or children's clothing at a reasonable price.

Sadly, I don't think Primark will open a store in the near future but they do have a couple of shops within 25 miles of Salisbury.

The nearest store is in Southampton and its address is: 22 - 28 Above Bar Street. SO14 7DQ. Website

There is also a Primark in Winchester at The Brooks Shopping Centre. Website.

Buying Primark clothes online

It would be tempting to think that you could order goods from the Primark website and have them delivered to you in Salisbury. Sadly this is not the case as the do not offer online shopping as an option for shoppers. I think the reason that they don't offer delivery, and it's only my opinion, is that it would bump up the cost of cheap clothing. They would far rather you visited one of their stores..

So there you have it.. It's highly unlikely that Primark will be coming to Salisbury anytime soon.
