British people are fat with many at risk of obesity in the future. The reason British people are fat is mainly down to a diet of junk food and a lack of proper exercise. Walking to McDonald's is not exercise and it's no way to tackle obesity in the UK :)

I sometimes wonder whether people realize that a constant diet of fat filled junk food and sugary drinks are bad for them or not. We are told just how bad this food is on TV and in the news papers on a regular basis but perhaps is just doesn't sink in with these people.

British people are fat and so are their children

According to a BBC report on childhood obesity, around one in three children under 15 are overweight or obese. Children who are obese are growing up with a variety of health problems and could go on develop serious lifelong illnesses, such as Type 2 diabetes.

Many parents fail to note that their children are obese because many of them are obese themselves and take little exercise.

You don't have to go very far to spot fat British people, just walk down any UK high Street in summer and you'll see plenty of over weight people with bulging stomachs and flabby bottoms.

Why the British have such a passion for pizza, burgers and sausage rolls amazes me, it's not as though it's particularly cheap compared with healthy food.

Fat people need to exercise

If you're over weight then you need not only cut down on the junk food but also get some exercise. Many children seem to be connected to some sort of computer or games console all day when they should be out playing with their friends.

When I was a youngster we didn't have games consoles apart from the ping pong game that you connected to your TV. I seem to remember that I was always out and about, whether we were out on our tracker bikes or building a den somewhere. We certainly didn't lack any exercise and as a result, very few of us were overweight, let alone obese.

Ok, so not all British people are fat but there are a heck of a lot more than there ever used to be. Let's tackle obesity
