Driving From Amesbury to Stonehenge

For visitors to Amesbury that wish to get to Stonehenge by car, drive to the Countess Roundabout at the A303 and head West. Drive along the A303 until you reach the Longbarrow roundabout, follow the signs to the Stonehenge visitor centre which is located just off of the A360 close to Airman's Corner.

There are both coach and car parks with a shuttle that runs to Stonehenge.

Walking to Amesbury to Stonehenge

It is possible to walk from Amesbury to Stonehenge but walking boots may be useful if it's been raining.

You can walk from the centre of Amesbury along the Countess Road (A345) up to the roundabout at the A303 and use a pedestrian underpass that is situated on the Eastern side.

This will bring you out close to the Travelodge where you then proceed up the countess Road. There is a footpath about 300M up the road on the left which will take you to Stonehenge. For more specific details refer to Google Maps or refer to OS Landranger Map 184 for more details.

A taxi to Stonehenge SP4 7DE

If you do not have access to transport and you don't fancy walking to Stonehenge then your best bet will be a take a taxi. If you're staying at a hotel or B&B then they will be able to organise a taxi for you. I wouldn't think that a taxi from Amesbury to Stonehenge (SP4 7DE) would cost no more than about £5 in each direction.
